The goal of the Menu project was to expand students’ knowledge and understanding of grid use and the organization of text. Each of these menus is a reformation of all the information on the Storm Castle Cafe menu in Bozeman, Montana. The original menu had no hierarchy or place to rest the eye. These versions allow the reader to have a clear sense of hierarchy, and the pages feel balanced. This exercise was also an exploration of typeface pairings, by carefully exploring and experimenting with different type pairings, a final two were chosen reflect the welcoming yet elegant vibe of the cafe.
